Terms of Business

Welcome to our terms of business.

All work undertaken for our clients is subject to the following terms:

 

Level of service

We pride ourselves on the service we provide to all of our clients, and aim to provide the highest level of service at all times. We endeavour to respond promptly to calls, emails and letters, and within 24 hrs at the latest, unless these enquiries fall upon a weekend or bank holiday.

Our promise to our clients is a first class, reliable and efficient PAT Testing Service.

 

Comprehensive PAT Testing Service

We will provide all of our clients with a Comprehensive PAT Testing Service, unless other terms are agreed in writing/via email. This will include everything required for a safe and effective inspection and testing service (PAT Testing) including minor repairs.

The price quoted will include:

  • A fully qualified engineer to visit your premises

  • Testing carried out using approved & calibrated test equipment

  • Every item tested in accordance with The IET code of practice

  • All labelling in accordance with The IET code of practice

  • A detailed asset report and certificate

  • Supply and fit of replacement fuses 

  • Supply and fit of replacement plugs

  • Out of normal business hours testing service 

 

*A fair use policy applies:

Maximum of 10 replacement plugs (standard) in every 100 PAT Tests

 

Occasionally there may be an additional charge for the following:

  • Parking charges (if onsite parking is not available and paid parking is necessary)

  • Supply and fit of RCDs (if required)

  • Supply and fit of tough plugs (extra durable/if required)

  • Supply and fit of new cable to appliance (if required)

  • Supply and fit of industrial sockets (if required)

 

Our responsibilities

It is our responsibility to carry out the PAT Testing (Portable Appliance Testing), in accordance with the current standards of The IET Code of Practice for In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment, and to ensure our engineers are competent and qualified to carry out such work.

 

Insurance

We (Patman 4 Safety) have both public liability insurance and professional indemnity insurance.

 

Client’s responsibilities

It is the client’s responsibility to:

  • make, for the purpose of testing, all electrical equipment available to our test engineer on the arranged date and time. Revisits to sites for testing of equipment not made available may be charged at normal rate.

  • make us (Patman 4 Safety) and/or our engineer aware of any particular health & safety requirements for their premises/site, and any hazards that may be present.

  • understand the terms of business and the faulty equipment policy.

 

Payment

Once the work has been completed, the client will receive an invoice via email. Payment is due within 14 days from the invoice date, unless agreed otherwise via email/in writing.

Further work will not be undertaken if any fee remains outstanding beyond the 14 day period, or such other settlement period that we agree upon via email/in writing.

On continuation of non-payment, cost and interest will be added in accordance with current UK legislation for late payment of commercial debts.

 

Agreement of terms

When you first instruct us, we will provide you with a quote via email for the work specified, and the date agreed. You will be asked to reply to this email to accept the quote. Either party can terminate the agreement at any time and without penalty be letting the other know via email. Fees incurred up to the date of termination will become payable in full within 14 days of date of termination.

By accepting a quote from us, or requesting our service, you agree with our terms and conditions, all of which can be found on our website, and via a link in emails sent from us.

 

Changes of terms

Please note, we may make changes to the terms of business in the future. Any changes will be updated here.
