No Earth - Electrical Hazard

Updated: May 25, 2020

An extension lead we recently PAT Tested was found wired with no earth. If this extension lead was used to power a class 1 appliance which requires connection to earth for fault protection it could have led to the accessible conductive parts of the appliance staying live under fault conditions, potentially leading to electric shock if touched.
